Birthday!

Celebrating one whole year of chat!

A birthday note from whyyes:

Dear Zone,

I must thank you deeply for almost always being there for me. Through thick and thin. From the swamps of life to the savannas. From hell to gambling hell. There is no such place as vibrant or exuberant as you oh zone, my home-public chat. Nowhere else could I meet such a vibrant group of people. Especially not where I live.

I'm sure some won't care to read this. I'm sure some will have forgotten me already. I'm sure some never really cared in the first place. But what is zone if not such a big place where you can get lost in all who go and come from there.

It has been my delight to have been able to share my interests with you folk. It may not seem like I've changed, but frankly I have. There was a certain beauty in sharing that change frankly. From shows and games about the power of friendship to more so-called 'mature' manga about the powers of friendships. Its honestly strange how that happened... yet it feels like I haven't changed. What I view may have changed on a physical level. Maybe there's more swears now. More blood or guts or gambling or what you have. But in the end, the soul of what I consume and find interesting has always remained the same.

It's always been hard for me to find that soul though. Frankly a large part of my life I've never really had that many friends. While I may not call everyone of you zoners my friend, I am really appreciative of the ones I do and those who are willing to consider me a friend. There was true beauty in sharing this somewhat 'growing up' experience with you all.

Without zone I feel like I'd have missed out on a lot of what I am now. Even if things are harder or scarier in my life. You, zone, have always been a beacon of light beckoning me to its side like the light at the end of the tunnel.

Now, a message to every zoner who's still active and I still remember:

Thank you phantos for giving us a platform and enabling such experiences.

Thank you cc for those manga recommendations. I haven't gotten to them yet but they seem quite fun.

You were a cool person AN. Thanks for correcting me in Maths from time to time.

Thanks skarph for trying to explain American physics to me 6 months ago (wow how time flies)

Gibus, I may have not much to say about you, but I must say that doom wads are cool. And you are a cool person for playing them.

Tiro, you are a troll among trolls. And when you weren't, you were genuinely one of the most helpful kind people there. You genuinely were pretty cool.

Banana, you may have disliked me heavily, but i can acknowledge that you are an extremely cool zoner. Sure I didn't get your jokes but its always nice to try and make others laugh. I feel like you were excellent at it and hopefully continue doing that.

Fezi, I may have never been your biggest fan but from the SFW art I've seen you make, I can say for certain that you are skilled. Also besides the horni you are pretty cool.

Snake, you too are a great artist and a great person.

Garlic Bread, you were someone with the best initiative. Thank you so much for engaging in the various different activities of zone and making several yourself. They were always more fun with you.

Salty, I may not have Rainworld but I am a coder and I can say you wrote some great darn code. Your gay lamp drawings were also genuinely gorgeous.

Rhys, your art is great and I am thankful that you can help zoners with their own art. You are a great person and I hope your situation improves.

CT it was always nice to play gartic phone with you and it was always a delight to be able to watch something with you. You always helped enhance the experience. I can't see zone being as great as it is without you.

TP, for all our disagreement, I must admit you did post some darn good memes. Keep memeing on pardner.

Lilith you are also a troll, and you are quite well at it. I'm sure a day will come where you surpass tiro.

And finally,

Ellie. Thanks for always being there. For always coming to every single thing I try and do. For being one of my most darn reliable friends. Zone wouldn't be where it is now without you.

With this I bring my note to a close. Thank you all who have read so far for hearing my thoughts. I hope zone continues on for many years. Till we all can look upon it fondly and maybe, pass on all these experience. all these emotions, all these ideas we've gotten to the people we love and cherish in our real lives. And hell, maybe some of us already doing that. If so keep doing what you are doing. Zone only dies when you let it. So please for the future of humanity, don't let this garden of tranquility and diversity die.
